Changemaker II Production Sale
Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 1:00 PM

There are just some days better than others to set the stage for a great sale. October 27 was just such a day at Dreamcatcher Ranch. In fact, the word perfect comes to mind. A warm fall day, lots of green grass, a large crowd and an even larger dose of Texas hospitality from the Don and Karen Meador family set the stage for an outstanding sale.

Bryan Roe, WMD Angus, Harlowton, Mt., following the sale on the Internet, had the winning bid on Lot 9, DRMCTR Objective 6J3. Bryan paid $15,000 to own this tremendous Objective son. 6J3 was the #1 2-year-old bull in the sale for $B and the 16th ranked $B bull compared to 98,450 non-parent Angus bulls in the breed. Charles Frazier, Lone Wolf Ranch, Coolidge, Tex., outlasted all competing bidders at $10,000 to own Lot 1, DRMCTR 1I1 Rito 6107. 6107, sired by 1I1 and out of one of the finest donors ever to grace the pastures at Dreamcatcher, ranks in the top 1% of the breed for $B, $F and YW. Mike Watson, Watson’s Fly Bar W, Eustace, Tex., paid $10,000 to own Lot 66, DRMCTR Objective 6J04, an Objective son out of another great Dreamcatcher donor, DRMCTR 1407 Design 2B81.

There was no lapse in intensity as the females began selling. Lot 140A, a "buyer's choice" lot between two full sisters, sold to Ted Cain, Cain Cattle Co., Wiggins, Miss., for $27,000. The 1I1 daughter out of H142, is a high ranking, April calving heifer that sold safe in calf to GAR Solution. Lots 118 and 135 each sold for $25,000 to Bryan Roe and Jeff & Sharon Schnieders, Ozark Hills Angus, Jefferson City, Mo., respectively. Roe purchased Lot 118, DRMCTR Precision 4P06, one of the top donors in the Dreamcatcher herd and dam of top selling bull in the sale. The Schnieders purchased Lot 135, DRMCTR 1407 Design 4B07, a tremendous 1407 daughter out of the GAR Precision 919 cow. Ted Cain added Lot 122 to his impressive list of females with a winning bid of $21,000. 5G01 is a Grid Maker daughter out of the awesome 2B02, now at home at Sugar Hill in North Carolina. Mary McGee, Longview, Tex., Jeff and Sharon Schnieders and Randy Roden, Roden Angus, Grandview, Tex., purchased lots 153, 176 and 177, respectively, for $15,000 each. The 1I2-2B02 matings proved to be an exciting genetic combination for those looking for donors and Lot 153, 176 and 177 were no exception.
